“We view Ireland as the ethical analytics hub of Europe, making Dublin the perfect location for both the Trūata global HQ as well as the location for the conference on data protection and analytics, which we are delighted to host in association with IDA Ireland. The goal of this inaugural conference is really to delve into how the ethical use of data can lead to growth and sustainable innovation”, said Felix Marx, CEO of Trūata.

The official Trūata office opening was attended by senior executives from founding partners Mastercard and IBM, Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Josepha Madigan, TD, Mary Buckley, Executive Director, IDA Ireland, as well as industry personnel and academics. Officiating at the opening event, Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Josepha Madigan, TD said “Trūata’s decision to establish its HQ in Sandyford is another boost for what is already a thriving technology cluster in the local area, and is an endorsement of Dublin’s reputation as a vibrant technology hub within the EU. Dublin, and Sandyford, continues to attract and retain a talented and well-educated workforce. Ireland’s strong position on data protection is becoming a key factor in attracting data focused companies.”

Speaking at the Trūata HQ official opening, JoAnn Stonier, Chief Data Officer for Mastercard stated that: “Successful businesses rely on data driven insights to ensure delivery of next generation products and services to their customers. But responsible companies also understand that sustainable innovation can only be achieved with full protection of individuals’ privacy rights. A new generation of privacy laws such as the GDPR reinforces the critical importance of respecting consumers’ privacy and the need for solutions such as the Trūata Anonymization Solution. Mastercard is proud to have co-founded Trūata, and to be a Trūata customer, as the company’s unique privacy-by-design approach embodies the commitment to data protection that Mastercard has long championed.”

“At IBM we have long understood the need to earn trust through the responsible management of data. With advanced data anonymization and analytics technologies from IBM Research combined with the security of the IBM Cloud, Trūata offers companies a way to extract the maximum value from data without compromising privacy. With changing societal attitudes and increasingly complex regulatory environments, independent anonymization and analysis of data is something that data-driven companies need to consider” said Paul Farrell, Country General Manager, IBM Ireland

“Ireland has long been a leader in the areas of data science, technology innovation and data protection. Dublin is therefore the logical home for innovative companies like Trūata, as they seek to find new ways to help companies grow while respecting data protection laws, and Dublin is the perfect location for Trūata’s conference on data protection and analytics, given its focus on fostering an open and constructive dialogue on the role of ethics in data analytics,” said Mary Buckley, Executive Director IDA Ireland.
