Data Protection Manager

Job Overview

This appointee will be responsible for assisting the CPO in ensuring privacy and data protection is addressed in all business processes that collect, use or disclose personally identifiable information about our customers, partners and employees and will be integral to ensuring that Trūata remains in compliance with all applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR.

Major Responsibilities

Privacy by Design:

  • Understand and be able to clearly explain the complex data-driven business models and identify and apply applicable privacy and data protection laws
  • Ensure privacy/data protection requirements are addressed as part of Trūata’s operations, including monitoring of its anonymisation processes, the importation of client files, the use and creation of analytic tools and methodologies. Will act as the privacy gate keeper at all stages of operations
  • Support the business by acting as a technical/privacy advisor to ensure accurate product, process and technical implementation of solutions
  • Identify business and technical requirements resulting from new and evolving privacy laws and regulations
  • Enable the development of information based products and solutions while ensuring compliance with global privacy and data protection laws, in particular the GDPR

Legal Compliance:

  • Assist in the creation of all data protection policies, standards and procedures
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • Review technological solutions where applicable
  • Ensure breach reporting requirements are complied with

Education and Experience

  • Technical qualification in computers, analytics and Big data
  • Info Sec qualification
  • Superior analytical skills and ability to frame complex issues and problems and seek optimal
  • Knowledge of data analytics
  • Good knowledge of the EU General Data Protection Regulation
  • Knowledge of anonymization and pseudonymization methodologies highly desirable
  • Legal or compliance background desirable
  • IAPP/ACOI data protection
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to excel at multi-tasking in a start-up environment
  • Superior time management, planning, and organizational skills
